The main purpose of this research is to investigate the effects of applying board games on Mandarin teaching in the Mandarin class of the elementary school. One group pretest-posttest design of experimental research method was adopted to conduct this study, which involved fifteen students. The study of applying board games on Mandarin teaching continued for ten weeks, one class a week. The research tools used in the study are Project for implementation of Remedial Instruction-technology-based testing, PRIORI-tbt and Applying Board Games in Mandarin Learning Questionnaire. The nonparametric statistics were used by Wilcoxon Signed Ranked Test and descriptive statistics. Moreover, the qualitative data of students’ opinion and reflection were used to supplement the conclusion of the study. The experimental study result are summarized as follows:
1.Applying board games on Mandarin teaching does improve student’s learning outcomes significantly.
2.Applying board games on Mandarin teaching enhances parts of student’s Teaching abilities in Mandarin significantly.
3.The result presents that students have more positive attitude at Mandarin class by applying board games on Mandarin learning.

(2)Students consider that it is helpful for their Teaching by applying board games on Mandarin learning.
In view of the mentioned research results, recommendations which are servered as a reference for integrating board games into instructional designs, are proposed for teachers in education scene and follow-up researchers.
