    摘要: Because of Two-day off, Double-income-parents families and low birth rate, a huge increasing of people eating out emphasize on the safety of dining places. Recently, many accidents happened at dining places has also surged; the fire safety is worth deeply investigated. This study aimed to investigate the cognitions and attitudes of fire safety for customers to dining places. A random sampling of self-administered questionnaires was used to investigate the customers in the period from January 15, 2012 to 29 February 2012. Four hundred and seventy-five people were selected in this cross-sectional, descriptive study by using a structured questionnaire. Four hundred and fifty-six valid data were used to analyze as the results, the valid corresponding rate was 96.8 %. The statistic results showed that lack of the cognitions toward fire safety, the dining places and reasons caused most fire accidents for the respondents. The respondents’ attitudes toward fire safety at dining places were above the averages. The cognitions of fire safety for the female respondents were better than those of the males. The cognitions of fire safety for the respondents’ ages over 51 years old were better than those of the other ages. The cognitions of fire safety for the respondents having master degrees were better than those of the others. The cognitions of fire safety for the respondents working at service industries were better than those of the others. Lastly, according to the results of this study, it is suggested to promote publics’ knowledge of fire safety from the elementary schools. Government agencies and restaurants both should advocate fire safety and provide related education. In this way, people are able to inquire relevant information easily and thus the possibility of fire accidents can be reduced.Keywords: restaurant, dining place, fire safety, cognition, attitude.
