    Abstract: Objective and Methods: The purpose of this study is to explore the relevant factors of medical utilization that impact mountain residents. The data resource of this study came from National Health Interview Survey(2001), selected people over 12 years old of 30 residents of the mountain area as samples. Use 1.demographic characteristics, 2.personal health condition, 3. Personal health behavior, 4. Health conscious, 5.the condition of medical service utilization as variables and analyzed by logistic regression. Result and conclusion: The result of study found that (1) under controlling other variable, age, gender, Marital status, Stroke and current state of health significantly influence on residential use (P<0.05). (2 Emergency use: Heart disease, lung disease, hypertension and current state of health significantly influence on emergency use(P<0.05).(3 Out-patient medical use : industry, income, heart disease, lung disease,hypertension and the current state of health significantly influence on clinics use(P<0.05).(4) Dentists use: dentists utilization in female was higher than male (P<0.05). (5) Chinese medical use: lung disease and hypertension significantly influence on Chinese medical use (P<0.05). Based on the research findings, the following recommendations are proposed , (1) On health institution recommendations : 1. Specific advocacy group correct Health concepts, 2. Increased accessibility of dentists in Mountain area , raise awareness of oral health, (2) Recommendations of the people : Concerned about their health, and use limited resources effectively. (3) Recommendations of the researchers : 1.Can do longitudinal studies in the future , 2. self-designed questionnaire survey, 3. Do research on mountain residents of the health knowledge, attitudes, behavior as so on.
