Abstract: This study aims to investigate the causal relationship of the constraint factors of the physically challenged in Taipei for exercising in health clubs and their behavioral intentions. The physically challenged in Taipei serve as the research subjects. The constraint scale of the physically challenged exercising in health clubs and the behavioral intention scale were adopted as the research tools. Purposive sampling was adopted and a total of 400 questionnaires were issued, with 388 copies collected, for a return rate of 97%. The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics to understand the distribution of personal information variables. The independent-samples t-test and one-way ANOVA were employed to analyze the different effects of the demographic variables on the constraint factors. Finally, the influence of constraints on behavioral intentions was explored via path analysis. The results show that gender and age exhibit no significant difference in regard to the constraint factors of the physically challenged in Taipei for exercising in health clubs, while education, marital status, disability level and financial status cause significant difference among the constraint factors. In addition, the constraint factors also have a significant influence on the behavior intentions. Suggestions for the practical application and relevant academic research are also proposed according to the research results.
