    摘要: By collecting relevant data from the official website of the MOE, it is suggested that the rate of students with poor vision singly in Chiayi City is higher than national average, ranked as the fourth highest coming after that of Taipei City, Taichung City and Hsinchu City. As a matter of fact, in Chiayi City, seven junior high school students out of ten are diagnosed as having poor vision upon graduation. Though the rate proves to be lower than that of Chiayi City and of the whole nation, there’s still room for prevention and improvement.

    Intervention strategy was employed in the research in designing and conducting the related curriculums: it is concluded that most of the students’ reading posture, sleeping and dietary habits as well as the overall surroundings’ ambient lighting proves to be okay. When TV watching and the use of computers and other portable devices are involved, however, students immediately fail to remember the guidelines they’re supposed to abide by. And this is definitely the point that the authorities concerned need to pay their heed to.
